Yum, yum puerco para todos!

My sister and I visited the Ranch Market this weekend and ran across this hysterical display in the massive meat department. I'm not a fan of pork chorizo myself, I'm a die hard beef chorizo girl, but this chorizo sculpture surely caught my eye and made my day! :) - T

I am lucky ...

Find your bliss

It seemed appropriate to include this on a blog about happiness. A British researcher says that today, June 20 is the happiest day of the year. It's a combination of several factors, including time spent outdoors, temperature, positive memories of childhood summers and vacation anticipation. Considering that the high in Phoenix is expected to be 111 degrees today, I'd have to disagree with the first two factors of formula. But the vacation anticipation and childhood summers makes up for both!

Can I get a Woof! Woof!

Today is Take Your Dog To Work Day ... and although my precious pups Rocco and Lola ... that's them in the photo ... can't accompany me to work today ... the security guard at my work won't let them step paw into the building ... I do get the occasional perk of working from home and having my doggies with me there.

Well, duh!

My sweet, sweet Cookie was named one of People's sexiest bachelors ... no, really? Is he? I think he should have been number one, that title when to Mario Lopez, who just broke up with his longtime girlfriend Karina Smirnoff and allegedly was cheating on her for over a year. Nice. Cookie would NEVER do that. Anyway, congrats to David Cook for having People tell the world what all of his fans knew all along.

The daily milk and Cookie

Oh I can hardly wait for July 1 to see David Cook, until then ... I'll settle for watching his take on the Foo Fighters' rock anthem ... 'My Hero.'

Oh whatever should my sign for the concert say?

Some options:

I <3 COOKIE
COOKIE, I GOT A NEW HAIRCUT TOO!
MY <3 BELONGS TO COOKIE
I'D DO ANYTHING FOR A BITE OF COOKIE

OK, there are a few other possibilities, but they are, dare I say, a little more PG-13 than PG ... and they may not be appropriate for the younger 'Idol' fans.

While I haven't finalized my sign just yet, I'm still holding out hope that I can persuade my sis-in-law to hold up a sign that says, SLEAZY FOR CHIKEZIE ... now, she's nowhere near being sleazy nor is she a big Chikezie fan, but I just think it's funny. :)

Love will never do without Antonio Sabato Jr.

Oh how I love this video. It takes me back to days when I didn't have a job. When I was in school and just chilled all summer long. Ah, those were the days. This video also started my years long obsessions with Antonio Sabato Jr. and the work of Herb Ritts.

Antonio's dimples kill me ... EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! Aye dios mio!

Not to mention, this is one of Janet's best songs. A piece of pure pop perfection.

unleashing your inner rock star

Everyone has inner demons they fight, but for the past month I’ve been in a battle with a real demon. That would be Lucifer in the video game, Guitar Hero III. Last night I defeated him on medium level and became a Rock Legend. It was a huge victory in my house, which means I can finally get off my couch and move on to mastering the Wii Fit.

Project makeover

I don't know how I feel about some of my favorite characters getting such drastic makeovers to make them relevant to today's kids. Read the New York Times' article on facelifts for Strawberry, Bugs Bunny and maybe even Mickey Mouse! You know you're getting old when you're saying things like, "Back in my day, Strawberry Shortcake didn't need to be chatting on a cellphone." That said, some of my fondest childhood memories are of playing with Strawberry and her sweet scented friends.

Crummy morning ain't gonna get me down ...

We all have them ... days where we wished we would have just called in sick. Today was one of the those days. But thanks to my homies, K, M and O ... and a few of my favorite things I'm back on track. I'm feeling much love. I'm feeling grateful. All is better.

The pic above is of my new monkey patterned glass (although it's really made of plastic). I also have the sheets, both are from Target and it makes me perk up just seeing them. Thanks to my good amiga Ofy for nudging me into buying them.

My glass if filled with another of my favs, Orange Fanta. ADM! (Aye Dios Mio) I love it, so bubbly, so orangy, so delicious! BTW, who knew they made Pinapple Fanta?! I didn't! Must try it! :)

Let's be honest

A wrap is just a bougie term for a burrito, but I had a "wrapsalda" today at Rubios. Cranberries, almonds, chicken and bits of mango. Yummy! - O

I'm in Apple nirvana ...

It's no secret to my friends and family that I'm a bit of a mac-aholic .... so today was a big day in my world ... Apple and Steve Jobs unveiled the new iPhone ... I must have it. It's as simple as that ... old iPhone, we've had some good times, but in the words of Beyonce, let me upgrade you! And best of all ... it comes out one day after my birthday ... hmm, wonder what's on my list this year?! :)
